Upcoming Product: IPR4000 Belt Worn Radio

The third member of the IP Communicator® product family is the IPR4000, that is configured as a belt-worn module without a built-in speaker/mic and fewer outside features. It is designed to be used with David-Clark style of headsets and marketed to the users where extremely loud operating environments are present (such as airports, aircraft carriers, race car tracks, football fields…). The IPR4000 contains all the same features as the other IP Communicator™ products but scaled back on the user interface. The IPR4000 only supports a small LCD character display for caller-ID identification, a manual channel knob to select one of 16 talk groups/channels and a manual volume knob. It supports cabled a Ethernet (waterproof IP-67 connector) located on the bottom of the unit, WiFi and optionally cellular data. The GPS antenna is located on the side of the IPR4000 whereas the cellular and WiFi antennas are on the bottom of the unit. On the top of the unit is the headset port, LCD display and control knobs. The user can control the Push To Talk on the David Clark headset cable.

The battery is internal (where the IPR4500 battery is externally and quicker to change) and can be removed manually by the user when needed. The enclosure is fully sealed and designed to withstand IP-67 and MIL-STD 810/F certifications.

Targeted industries for the IPR4000 include the Military, Oil industry, Airport industries, NASCAR and racing groups and the professional sports industries such as the AFL/NFL. Because the IPR4000 is so secure (AES-256 bit encrypted), sports industries do not have to worry about someone tapping into the conversation. If security is such a concern they can cable into the IPR4000 and run their operations over cabled IP.
